8 BEAUTY HACKS FOR YOUR FLIGHT

8 Beauty Hacks for Your Long Flight

Even a short flight can leave you feeling bad. That’s because the harsh environmental factors on a plane can dehydrate your skin and body. There’s low humidity, recycled air, and UV radiation… just to name a few.

Flight-Beauty-tips

So we’ve compiled a list of beauty hacks you can do in your seat. Now it’s easier to look and feel your best from takeoff to landing. And while sitting pretty at 35,000 feet in between.

Drink More Water

Traveling Happy means traveling hydrated, period. A good benchmark is to drink two full glasses of water before your flight, along with an extra eight ounces every hour you’re in the air. Bring a water bottle with you on the plane, and every time the flight attendant makes an announcement, take a sip.

Keep Eye Cream on Hand

The delicate skin on and around your eyelids is especially susceptible to losing moisture in flight. Revitalize with an eye cream when you board and again after every movie you watch on the plane (about every two hours).

Dab on a Serum

serum

Hydrating face serums are everywhere for a reason. They’re formulated with a higher concentration of nutrients and antioxidants and can help temper the radiation you’re exposed to at high altitudes. Before your flight, dab a few drops of serum onto damp skin directly after cleansing. Follow the words: “damp skin lets nutrients in.” And reapply every 2-3 hours you’re in the air.

Unclog Your Pores

Here’s a great rule: Never wear a face full of makeup on an airplane. Just. Don’t. Dry cabin air makes congested pores worse.

That said, if you absolutely cannot go barefaced (neither can we), replace your usual foundation with a tinted moisturizer or BB cream.

It’s All About That SPF

use SPF

When you’re on an airplane, you’re closer to the sun, so keep your cabin window closed. Surprisingly, you can get sunburn during a flight. Safeguard your skin with sun care products on your face and forearms.

Sleep as Long as You Can, if You Can

sleep

There’s a reason it’s called beauty sleep. While you snooze, your body increases blood flow to your skin, so you wake up with a natural glow. Catching Zzz’s encourages cell renewal, which can help your skin recover from the environmental changes you experience on a plane.

Give Your Cuticles a Treat

It all comes back to that dry cabin air, which drains your cuticles of moisture, causing irritation. Good thing your lip balm doubles as a cuticle treatment. Put some at the base of each nail bed every 2-3 hours once you’ve reached a comfortable cruising altitude.

Keep Stress at Bay: Travel Happy

relax

Stress is the number one cause of not feeling as amazing as you are. It’s bad for your skin, bad for your body, and bad for your vibe.

Minimize the tension, even through turbulence, by applying pressure to the webbing between your index finger and thumb.
